About
When I was twelve years of age, my parents bought a small pet shop in the town of Vryheid in 1994. My parents had four children, we were three boys and one girl, and I was the second oldest child. We only had one employee to clean the shop, and after school we had to assist in the shop with sales, marking new stock, prepacking bulk seed, and feeding the livestock. After the first year we moved to a larger shop to accommodate the increased amount of stock. Seven years later the business had grown tremendously, we had to move to a much larger premises on the main road, and Pets Paradise became a wholesaler. The shop had grown year on year, and customers came from far to buy their monthly bulk seeds and accessories for their farm animals and pets. After I matriculated, I started a permanent employment in our local town Vryheid. I worked shifts, and whenever I knocked off in daytime, I went to assist with sales, and customer service in the shop.
In 2014 I decided to start a new employment in Johannesburg. Officially my first independence day, far away from friends and family and now having to fend for myself, I moved into my first flat. My interested in sewing was there, but the time to start and learn was little. In 2020 during covid lock down, I got myself a sewing machine and decided to learn on my own. I did need a project to see if I can do it. My pup needed a bed, and I decided to try and make him a bed, with a sewing machine. I was quiet impressed with myself, the way it came out. I also realised that I got lots of time on my hands, and I need to do something to earn extra income.
Slowly the making of dog beds improved, and I got my 1st orders. I was encouraged by the orders that came in from the customers, and soon I worked every night until midnight to finished orders for the next day. Year by year it just got better, and I started to invest in industrial sewing machines. For 5 years I did it as a part time job, but with the demand of variety of bags and beds that came in, and got married, and my 1st child born in 2025, I decided to register my business, and start to run it as a professional business, in Feb 2026. The business is still in the growing process. I started with dog beds, and a year later I started to make a variety of bags, and last year 2025 I added embroidery to my projects.
